Betsy Ross 1776 Wooden American Flag Wall


This flag measures 37 inches wide and 19.25 inches high. It is hand painted with hand carved stars and 1776. The flag is made from pine and has been burned to bring out the wood grain and give the flag an aged look.


This flag is the pattern Betsy Ross used to make the first official American Flag for General Washington. Betsy was a very unique women. She owned her own upholstery business in Philadelphia and was a successful business owner. Betsy was recently widowed when Washington approach her to make the flag. Washington wanted the flag to have a 6 point star. Betsy took a piece of cloth and folded it. With a single cut of her scissors, she cut a perfect 5 point star. Washington was so impressed that he decided to go with the 5 point star.


Each flag comes with a brief history of Betsy Ross and the flag she designed for George Washington. This is a great conversation piece and away to remember the history of our nation.
